Telangana govt completes construction of 1.23 lakh 2BHKs

Hyderabad: The State government finished the development of almost 1.23 lakh twofold room houses under the 2BHK lodging plan in the State. While around 32,008 houses are prepared for occupation, another 91,306 houses are getting the last contacts, including painting and other minor works. Another 55,764 houses are under different phases of development.

Altogether, the State government endorsed 2.8 lakh twofold room houses for development in the State at an expense of Rs 18,520 crore. Of this, around one lakh houses were authorized for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) alone. Each house is being developed with two rooms and two toilets alongside a corridor and a kitchen in a complete region of 560 sqft.

The Telangana State Housing Corporation (TSHC) was endowed with the activity of building the houses. Tenders were welcomed for about 2.38 lakh houses and were settled for around 1.99 lakh houses. The development of 1.79 lakh houses has started, of which 32,008 houses are prepared for occupation. Almost Rs 6,141 crore has been spent for the developments till date.

In a discharge, Special Chief Secretary and TSHC Vice-Chairperson and Managing Director Chitra Ramachandran said the bills relating to the contractual workers were being paid inside 15 working days through the District Collectors utilizing Online Project Monitoring System (OPMS) to keep up straightforwardness in installments.
